How does the new EthyloCheck product work?
How does the new EthyloCheck product work?
It is a single-use chemical breathalyser. It works through a simple chemical reaction that provides an indication of your blood alcohol level.
How to use it:
Preparation: You must wait at least 20 minutes after your last alcoholic drink and 5 minutes after smoking. This is crucial to ensure a reliable result, as residual alcohol in the mouth can affect the test.
Activation: The device is sealed by two aluminium membranes. To activate it, press firmly on both ends to pierce them.
The test: Blow steadily into the breathalyser tube for two sets of 10 seconds. The exhaled air passes through crystals contained in the tube.
Reading the result: After approximately 4 minutes, the crystals change colour upon contact with alcohol. Compare the colour obtained with the graduated scale on the breathalyser. This scale is graduated in grams per litre of blood: 0.0 g/L, 0.2 g/L, 0.5 g/L and 0.8 g/L.
This breathalyser is easy to use and allows you to check your blood alcohol level against legal thresholds in France, particularly for young drivers (0.2 g/L) and experienced drivers (0.5 g/L).
